Oh my god! I can't believe he's already old enough to be frontwards in a bjorn but he is! He's growing up so fast with us so far away!
We referred to this as Mobile Suit mode. Best when accompanied by ventriloquizing (?) mechanical whirring sounds while moving about with slow jerky movements.
P.S.: Do not attempt, in combination with other parent-child units also operating in Mobile Suit mode, to join together into Giant Mobile Suit Champion mode. This mode is only for advanced operators and will void your björn's warranty.
